Often, discussions of nuclear energy, waste, weapons and technologies encourage polarisation, preventing people from engaging with nuances and complexities. Through art, we want to spotlight and make accessible, information that is often ignored or glossed over in the media.
Art in the Nuclear Age CIC has grown out of Art Action UK, a platform for artists’ responses to the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster. Art in the Nuclear Age CIC aims to facilitate critical, creative and caring discussions about the impacts of living in the nuclear age, featuring exhibitions, workshops, reading groups and discussion events. AiNA offers opportunities for people from a range of ages, backgrounds and experiences to explore questions about nuclear crisis within the current global environmental context.
